Haryanvi YouTuber and singer Ankit Balyan has passed away. The singer was reportedly killed in a shocking shooting incident by unidentified assailants outside the gym in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, when Ankit was coming out of the gym in Shamli district in the evening. The crime was committed in the Kotwali police station area.
As per police information, the shooter arrived on two motorcycles and opened several rounds of fire at Balyan, leading to his death on the spot.
Addressing the killing, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav condemned the crime, emphasizing that the law and order situation has been reduced to zero and the incident has instilled fear in the region. He also demanded an investigation from a possible political-rivalry angle.
On X (formerly Twitter), Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “The law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has been rendered null and void in the manner in which popular singer Ankit Balyan was mercilessly murdered by firing 18 rounds at him in Shamli, spreading fear across the entire region.”
Speaking up for the grief of the deceased’s mother, the politician called this murder an attack on the Jat community, “The news of the grieving mother of the deceased, cradling her son’s body in her lap and mourning on the street itself, is heart-wrenching. The Jat community has raised its demand for the arrest of the attackers right on the streets. The entire Jat community of UP considers this an attack on itself and is furious.”
Condemning the killing, he said, “There is a growing demand for the investigation of this murder case to also be conducted from the perspective of political rivalry. Utterly condemnable!”
While police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers and investigating the matter, the Gogi gang has allegedly claimed responsibility for the killing of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan with a social media post attributed to the gang surfacing after the murder on Thursday. Following this, the police are examining the viral post to establish its authenticity and whether the claim is linked to Balyan’s alleged past dispute with the gang.
