Many people have had a terrible week in the aftermath of the Itaewon Halloween Tragedy. Following the disaster, South Korea promptly declared a week of mourning, postponing numerous already scheduled activities. Multiple concerts were taking place at the same time and could not be postponed owing to scheduling constraints, so they had to go on as planned.

ATEEZ, for instance, conducted their second of two Seoul performances the day following the October 29th tragedy, prompting them to wear black ribbons on their arms in memory of the victims. ATEEZ has also chosen to contribute 100 million won ($71,219.49) to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association in support of the Itaewon disaster, according to several sources. The contribution was made to convey their sorrow to the victims and was made possible by the proceeds from their show.

Meanwhile, ATEEZ member Hongjoong staged a photography exhibit earlier this month to commemorate his upcoming birthday on November 7. Fans attending the exhibition may make significant donations, which will be used to grant scholarships to youth aspiring to be musicians ATEEZ keeps its donations hidden; this is not their first time participating in private charitable donations. They’ve discreetly given to groups like Good Neighbors, Children’s Foundation, and UNICEF.
