The Grammy Awards ceremony took place on February 1 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and set three new records, making Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar the most successful artists.
Kendrick Lamar made history by becoming the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, surpassing Jay-Z with 27 career wins. The Compton artist won five times at the event, including the top award, Record of the Year, for their song “Luther” with SZA. Lamar’s album GNX received the Best Rap Album award, while his song “TV Off” with Lefty Gunplay won Best Rap Song. Lamar also received Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Luther” and Best Rap Performance for “Chains & Whips”, which he performed with Clipse and Pharrell Williams.
Lady Gaga celebrated her own triumphant evening, winning Best Dance-Pop Recording for “Abracadabra” from her album Mayhem—her first victory in this category. She won her second Best Pop Vocal Album award for Mayhem, which follows her first win in this category from The Fame Monster in 2011. The pop icon delivered a show-stopping theatrical rock performance of “Abracadabra” while playing a Mini Moog synthesiser.
The show introduced several performers who achieved success beyond the production’s main acts. Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, while Billie Eilish won Song of the Year for her song “Wildflower.” British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean was named Best New Artist.
