Shocking news surfaces this day – veteran playback singer and actor Sulakshana Pandit passed away last night. As per the reports, the actress died on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. At the time of her demise, she was 71 years old. She was being taken to Nanavati Hospital when she passed away.
Sulakshana’s brother, Lalit Pandit, revealed that the actress complained of breathlessness on Thursday evening, and she passed away due to cardiac arrest around 7:00 PM. Lalit shared with PTI, “She passed away due to cardiac arrest around 7 pm. She had complained of breathlessness and seemed a bit unwell. We were taking her to Nanavati hospital, but she died before we could reach the hospital.”
Sulakshana was a popular star in the Indian entertainment industry. She marked her debut with the film Uljhan in 1975, opposite the late, stunning Sanjeev Kumar. She has also worked in films such as Do Waqt Ki Roti, Dharma Pathni, Samaj Ko Badal Dalo, Hera Pheri, and others. Sulakshana has worked with Bollywood stars, including Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, and others.
Talking about Sulakshana’s singing career, she has sung in different languages, from Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and others, with hits like Bekrara Dil Tut Gaya, Pardesiya Tere Desh Mein, Sapnon Ka Raja, Saat Samundar Paar Se, Tu Hi Saagar Hai Tu Hi Kinara, Mil Jaate Hain Milnewaale, Chal Chal Kahin Akele Mein, and others.
