Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu was an Indian singer, rapper, songwriter, and actor. He was popularly known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala. He was associated with Punjabi cinema and music. Sidhu was also a politician belonging to the Indian National Congress political party. He started his music career as a songwriter for the song “Liscense” by Ninja and later on began his singing career on a duet song titled “G Wagon”.

Sidhu is broadly regarded to have been one of the greatest Punjabi artists of his generation. He is also mentioned as an essential figure in opening the door for Punjabi artists to mainstream music. The singer founded a record label of his name and released a number of tracks on the record label. Sidhu started his acting career in Punjabi films with the film Yes I Am Student under his own production company, Jatt Life Studios. He also worked in Teri Meri Jodi. Sidhu had received wide recognition in just a short time period. He was very much renowned for his singing style. The singer was widely praised and over time delivered a number of hit songs.

Sidhu was shot dead in his care on 29 May 2022 in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. His assailants are yet to be identified and according to the police, the incident was caused by gang rivalry. The singer was declared dead at the hospital.

Following his tragic death, various Indian celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ajay Devgan, Varun Dhawan, and Vicky Kaushal paid tribute to the singer. A number of his selfies have been surfacing all over the internet after his death.
