The second Japanese-language compilation album by South Korean boy band BTS is titled BTS, the Best (stylized in all capitals). Big Hit Music and Universal Music published the album on June 16, 2021. Face Yourself (2018) and Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey are included on the CD, which is a compilation of their previous two Japanese-language studio albums (2020). It was a financial triumph, debuting at number one on Japan’s Oricon Chart and going on to become the first Korean male group to sell one million albums in Japan alone, as well as having the highest first-week sales in Japan in 2021.

On February 16, 2021, BTS will release “Film Out,” a new Japanese song. Jungkook, a member of BTS, wrote the song with Iyori Shimizu, the vocalist of the Japanese rock power trio Back Number. It is set to be the movie Signal the Movie Cold Case Investigation Unit’s concluding theme tune (2021). On March 26, the band teased the song’s music video while also announcing the release of BTS, the Best, a new Japanese-language album. The tracklist was also released at the same time. The album includes all of the band’s prior Japanese releases from 2017, as well as a bonus track of their English-language 2020 single, “Dynamite.” Seven different versions of the CD had been announced, each with its own set of supporters.

BTS has broken another milestone, with their album BTS, THE BEST selling over a million copies in Japan. In the first week after its release in June, this album sold 807,056 copies.

This is also the group’s first album to sell a million copies in Japan. It’s also the first album to reach 1 million downloads in 2021.

They are also the first Korean male group to have an album sell a million copies in Japan. BoA’s Best of Soul album reached this milestone in 2005, making BTS the second-highest-selling K-Pop artist in Japan.
