Born to a classical music singer Shubha Yagnik who also trained Alka Yagnik from a very young age. She started a singing career with Akashvani at the age of 6. When she was 10, she came to Mumbai but was told to wait until her voice had matured to sing.
Alka Yagnik had her first mega-hit with the song Hum Tum Rahenge in 1982. But the real recognition came from the movie Tezaab for the famous song Ek Do Teen. Who doesn’t know the famous track we all still dance to?
Throughout Alka Yagnik’s career, she has worked with several well-known composers and many singers. Also has sung in several Indian languages. And for all her achievements, she has been awarded and recognized with numerous awards and achievements.
