Lata Mangeshkar has charmed the whole of India with her voice. She is not just the Daughter of India but also the Nightingale of India. After the death of her father, as she was the eldest in the family, she had to work for supporting her family. She was a necessity of every director as they wanted only her to sing for their movies. There have been many actresses who have been brought to fame because of Lataji’s voice. She was a very kind and generous woman. From Madhubala to Dimple Kapadia as well as Preity Zinta had been given voice by Lata Mangeshkar.

Lata Mangeshkar had magical powers to her voice and she was a boon for the Bollywood music industry. A voice that was once rejected became the most admired and amazing singer. The patriotic song she sung for those brave Indian martyrs, with her voice overflowing with emotions got Jawaharlal Nehru to break down. The song Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon moved many heartening people into tears and still has a similar goosebump giving hold!

Lata Mangeshkar had monopolized the whole industry with her voice. She worked with many legend composers like Madan Mohan, Sajjad Hussain, S. D. Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and R. D. Burman. Some precious feathers in her crown are her awards like Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibushan and Dadasaheb Phalke award. Not just these but she also has been awarded the highest civilian award by the Government of India, Bharat Ratna.
