Mohammed Rafi was one of a kind. He was a very talented singer and could sing in many languages not just Indian but foreign as well. He was a multi-talented and multilingual singer. He had an amazing voice and truly was a boon that the industry had it with them. From classic hits to qawwalis he had sung it all. We find Rafi in almost every genre.
Mohammed Rafi had lent his voice to many acclaimed Bollywood stars. And also have been working with many known singers and composers. We did lose a gem very early. He was just 55 years old at the time of his death and his funeral was attended by ten thousand people.
Mohammed Rafi has given hundreds of hitting mellifluous tracks like Yeh Duniya Yeh Mehfil, Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, O Haseena, Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan and many more. His first song was for a Punjabi film Gul, Soniye Nee Heeriye Nee.
Mohammed Rafi had a mesmerizing personality and ruled the industry for years. During the 1970s, when Kishore Kumar made his musical debut, Rafi for a little while lost his charms to the industry but again made a comeback with full swing and his songs are that we will cherish forever. A precious gem-like him is very rare to find.
