The Nightingale of India is the true regent of Bollywood songs. If not a queen then what would you call the legendary singer of the music industry Lata Mangeshkar? She deserves a title more than a Queen for all the contributions she’s made to the industry.

Over the course of her journey, Lata Mangeshkar has earned quite a lot of awards and recognition. Whenever she used to sing, she did it with breathtaking ease and there’s no exception to it. In most cases, there were no retakes as well as sometimes she didn’t even rehearse. Despite all that, she managed to deliver one after another superhit.

The song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon was penned by Ramchandra. And he wanted Lata Mangeshkar to voice the song. But they could rehearse the song only once but when she performed the song it broke Jawaharlal Nehru to tears.

This is what Lata didi said, “At first I was nervous, thinking I have committed some mistake. But when I met Panditji (Nehru), I saw tears in his eyes.” “Lata, tumne aaj mujhe rula diya,” she said quoting the Prime Minister. The song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon was performed for the jawans of our country to appreciate them and give them courage. Her voice was so melodic that she left Jawaharlal Nehru in tears.
