Jennifer Coolidge, 61, introduced herself to her followers and said she was “trying to think of something exciting to do” for her debut in her first TikTok, which was posted on January 19.
Since the renowned actress has chosen to join TikTok, she is performing a humorous cover of Jennifer Lopez’s song “Jenny from the Block,” which she has a reputation for having a good time with and entertaining situations.
Coolidge made her TikTok debut by reciting Lopez’s popular song as a poem. She took her time and made dramatic pauses between each line of the song. They became good friends while working together on Lopez’s most recent movie, “Shotgun Wedding,” and they posed for photos together on the red carpet at the premiere.
It is no secret that Coolidge has experienced tremendous growth in her following and success over the past few years. Most recently, with her role in HBO’s “The White Lotus,” she established herself as the queen of viral moments and cemented her place among the stars with the most devoted fan bases in the business.
For her portrayal of Tanya in a television limited series, the actress last week earned a Golden Globe for best supporting actress.
She thanked Ryan Murphy for casting her in The Watcher, Reese Witherspoon for helping her land roles in the Legally Blonde films, and Mike White, the man behind White Lotus, in particular during her acceptance speech, saying, “There were, like, five people that kept me going for 20 years with these little jobs.”
Additionally, Coolidge received an Emmy last year for her work on the popular show, which also brought White recognition.
On January 27, Shotgun Wedding will premiere on Amazon Prime.
The actress recently talked about her bond with Ariana Grande, who she attributes to reviving her career after she appeared in her music video for “Thank U Next.”
“I adore that young lady. Her coolness is unmatched. She’s young and it’s like, “I mean, it’s like I… she is someone who is such an unusual story because she is this very, very elderly person in a very youthful body,” the Hollywood icon told ET Canada.
