The Commonwealth Games is currently in full swing and so far, the Indian contingent has done quite an amazing job to make the country proud at a global level. Majority of the medals have so far come in weightlifting. Well, now, we have two more special additions ladies and gentlemen.
23-year-old Murali Sreeshankar from Kerala won silver for long jump and thereby he also became the first Indian to win a medal in the event. Post that, it was Sudhir who opened India’s para sports medal account by winning the gold medal in men’s heavyweight para powerlifting with a Games record. Earlier in the day, boxers Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, Sagar Ahalwat and Rohit Tokas assured India of more medals by making semis.
