Team India had already scripted history by making it to the finale of the Thomas Cup this year. After taking on Denmark in the semi-final, India managed to reach the final and seal a spot against 14-time winners, Indonesia in the finale. And now, the team has scripted history for real as they defeated Indonesia to win a gold medal. Team India beat Indonesia 3-0 to win their maiden gold medal at the Thomas Cup.
