Popular Indian batter Rinku Singh poured out all his heart, paying a special tribute to his father after his demise. Recently, India won the Men’s T20 World Cup championship. Amidst the moment of victory, the cricketer penned a heartfelt note for his father, remembering him and highlighting that he wished his father had been with him as India lifted the trophy.
On March 10, Rinku shared a photo of himself with his father, both posing in front of a white car. However, in the caption, the cricketer shared that he hadn’t lived a day without talking to his father and wondered how the rest of his life would move now as he would need his father in every walk of life: “Aapse baat kiye bina itne din kabhi nahi nikale. Mujhe nahi pata aage ki zindagi aapke bina kaise chalegi… par mujhe har kadam par aapki zaroorat padegi.”
Rinku also shared the lessons his father taught him and the dream he fulfilled that his Fatehi saw: to see his son become a champion, but he wished that his father had been with him: “Aapne sikhaya tha ki farz sabse aage hai.. toh field par bas aapka sapna poora karne ki koshish kar raha tha. Ab aapka sapna pura ho gaya hai…. toh bas yahi lagta hai ki kash aap mere paas hote.”
Talking about the unfilled void his father has left, Rinku said, “Har chhoti badi khushi mein aapki kami khalegi. Bohot miss karunga aapko Papa… bohot zyada.”
Rinku Singh rushed back home in the middle of the tournament after his father’s health deteriorated. His father passed away recently in Greater Noida, and his last rites were held in Aligarh.
Though Rinku’s World Cup performance was average, this turned his father’s dream of seeing his son on the field into a reality.
