A heartbreaking moment for Indian cricketer Rinku Singh as his father, Khachandra Singh, passed away on February 27. The cricketer’s father was battling a prolonged stage 4 liver cancer. He took his last breath at the Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida, where he was taken for treatment recently after his condition worsened.

The reports suggest that Rinku’s father was on a ventilator and was receiving renal therapy, with the doctor trying to stabilize him, but even after the aggressive efforts, Rinku’s father’s condition continued to decline.

Earlier, when Rinku discovered his father’s deteriorating health, the cricketer flew back home from Chennai, where he was with the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. And the reports suggest that, after traveling back home due to his father’s poor health, the cricketer Rinku returned to Chennai ahead of India’s Super 8 clash against Zimbabwe and rejoined the team.

But learning about his father’s demise today, Rinku Singh again left the team and has travelled back to Aligarh to be with his family during this tough time.

Yesterday, Rinku Singh was on the field for the match against Zimbabwe. However, since he has flown back home, it is unclear whether the cricketer will join the team for the remaining T20 World Cup matches.

We pay our condolences to the family and friends grieving.
