The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi brought cricketing history to life with his stunning Under-19 World Cup performance which included scoring 175 runs from 80 balls against England at Harare Sports Club on February 6 2026.India achieved their initial total of 411 runs through his performance which remains their highest score in U-19 World Cup final matches.
Suryavanshi displayed his aggressive batting style by scoring 15 fours and 15 sixes to completely destroy the English bowling attack. The century he scored reached its hundred mark after 55 balls which created the fastest hundred record in U-19 World Cup final history while it stands as the second-fastest in tournament history behind Will Malajczuk of Australia who reached his hundred mark after 51 balls.
The Bihar prodigy shattered multiple records during his remarkable innings. The 175 runs he scored became the highest individual score in a U-19 final which surpassed Unmukt Chand’s 111* record from 2012 while his score surpassed Raj Bawa’s 162* record as the highest score by an Indian in U-19 World Cup matches. The fastest Youth ODI record belongs to him because he reached 150 runs after 71 balls.
Suryavanshi established a Youth ODI record when he hit 15 sixes during one batting performance. He finished the tournament with 30 sixes which surpassed Dewald Brevis’s former record of 18 sixes that he set in 2022.
