Since the introduction of cricket in India, we have witnessed a lot of legends in the field of cricket. In the past, the most loved player in India was Sachin Tendulkar and currently, it is our Captain Virat Kohli. However, there have been many players who performed better than expected and hence became very popular but failed to maintain their fame in the world of cricket. Yet some people and even the Indian team management continued to play with such players in hope that they will regain their form and perform well. Rishabh Pant is the best example of that type of player.

After performing more than average in some seasons of IPL, he gained a huge name for himself and went on to be known as a perfect replacement to Yuvraj Singh. Being a left-handed batsman and a very explosive one, just like Yuvraj was, everyone had high expectations from him on an international scale. Although he did perform well in some matches, his performance was poor in most of the matches. He was repeatedly given chances to prove himself but he failed to do so. This year’s IPL season went poor for him as well. He hit only 9 sixes throughout the tournament and scored 343 runs in total at an average of 31 which is close to the average of an all-rounder.

Samson, on the other hand, performed very well in the IPL 2020 for his team Rajasthan Royals. After Pant was given so many chances and Samson was allowed to miss on opportunities, Sanju Samson finally got a spot in the Indian Cricket Team for the T20Is against Australia. There he scored a few big hits but failed to maintain his wicket. However, he should still get more chances to prove himself as he is very good and one of a kind batsman.
