Things got interesting when Ben Stokes dived in for the run and the ball got deflected due to his batting and went for four giving England the advantage of 6 runs. That time England needed 9 runs from 3 balls but due to the decision, they needed 3 runs from 2 balls.
The match had got ties after the run out on the last wicket. After the match had tied, England went on and scored 15 runs. New Zealand went on for batting and scored the same score but due to lack of 4’s, England was declared the winner.
