The year 2020 has seen some really talented and dedicated sportsmen from the Indian cricket team dominate the field. So today, we have ensured from our end to list down for you all some of the most amazing cricketing icons that we witnessed in 2020. But guess what? We leave the final choice to you all to select your favorite among them and vote for the one you feel is the most deserving in the category.

Deepak Chahar

The express fast bowler from the Chennai Super Kings squad made an impact with the ball right from the word ‘go’. CSK didn’t have the best of seasons in IPL 2020 but Deepak was undoubtedly their go-to bowler whenever the side was in trouble and needed early wickets. He did similar damage early on for the Aussies in India’s tour down under to Australia and given the way he’s bowling, he certainly has a promising future ahead if he keeps away from injuries

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is literally on a roll both personally and professionally in 2020. He got married to the love of his life, Natasa Stankovic and is a proud father now. As far as IPL is concerned, his heroics led Mumbai Indians to their fifth title and to end things on a high, he ensured that he single-handedly won India the T20 series in Australia. If Hardik’s form continues this way, he is only going to pose more and more threat to oppositions in the near future

Jasprit Bumrah

India’s favourite ‘Boom Boom Bumrah’ is definitely on a roll and the last few years have been phenomenal for Jasprit as India’s leading fast bowler. His death over yorkers and slower balls are one of the best and that’s the biggest reason Mumbai Indians have given the least amount of runs in IPl 2020 in the last few overs which helped them lift their 5th title.

MS Dhoni

Even though MS Dhoni didn’t have the best of 2020 professionally, is there any way you can keep the best-ever Indian captain away from a list of popular cricketers? Fans got a sigh of relief when they heard that 2020 edition of IPL wasn’t his last and they are certainly looking forward to see more of MSD in IPL 2021. After all, ‘Mahi’ is just not a word but an emotion. Right readers?

Ravindra Jadeja

He’s truly the man of the moment for all the right reasons. Although CSK did not have a great season in IPL 2020, whatever games they managed to win, Jadeja had a big role to play with both bat and the ball. Not just that, he’s making an impact both with the bat and ball again in the ODI and test series against the Aussies and he achieved a unique feat of becoming only the third player after MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to play at least 50 games in all three formats for India. Keep going ‘Sir’ Jadeja.

Rohit Sharma

The man is called ‘hitman’ and quite rightfully so. Afterall when he starts ‘hitting’, there’s literally no ‘man’ on the playing field who can control the boundaries and sixes that come from Rohit’s bat. He had a major high with his 5th IPL trophy as captain but injury has kept him away from the Australian tour till now. However good news is he is back ahead of the third set and fans certainly can’t wait to see him in action after a long time.

Shikhar Dhawan

Often hailed as the original ‘Gabbar’ of Indian cricket, Shikhar Dhawan is truly that one player who really doesn’t care about ‘Kitne aadmi the’ on the cricket field as when he gets going, piercing gaps between fielders is nothing less than a walk in the park. Two IPL centuries in 2020 and a blockbuster presence on social media certainly brings Shikhar Dhawan once again in the scheme of things and we love him for everything he does.

Shreyas Iyer

If one has to pick one cricketer who has shown the most signs of improvement in terms of maturity and technique, it’s Shreyas Iyer. Talent was never a factor for him but the execution part has now improved all the way more in 2020 and even when captaincy is concerned, he did a great job for Delhi Capitals by leading them to the finals of IPL 2020 after a long time. Way to go young man!

Virat Kohli

The man who needs no introduction, India’s modern-day ‘run machine’ has been in the limelight for all the good reasons since the very beginning of 2020. From announcing to the world that he and his beloved wife Anushka Sharma are all set to become proud parents to showing responsibility off the cricket field as an ideal husband by taking paternity leave, Virat has opened new doors for discussions that the role of a father is equally important to that of a mother when they are expecting. Here’s hoping 2021 is Virat’s best year till date and he breaks more records.

Yuzvendra Chahal

India’s most talented find as far as leg-spin is concerned, Yuzvendra Chahal has grown in stature both in International and IPL cricket owing to his amazing performances. He had a great 2020 with the ball and even in personal life, he touched a new high as he got married to the love of his life, Dhanashree Verma. With more and more experience, Chahal keeps becoming a better and refined version of himself and Indian cricket is only to gain for his potential if he continues to play the way he is. Looking forward to more of him in 2021.
