Kristen Carroll Wiig is a USA-based artist, comedian, and writer. Born in Canandaigua, New York, she was brought up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Rochester, New York. Wiig moved to Los Angeles, where she explored her fortunes into comedy as a member of the improvisational comedy troupe The Groundlings, and made her first-ever presence in television in 2003. Wiig became the cast member of Saturday Night Live in 2005 and, the following year, and played a prominent role in the Christmas comedy film Unaccompanied Minors.
