Actress Jahnavi Soni, who is seen in Dangal TV‘s Paro Sang Dev, produced by 24 Frames, believes that Indian weddings continue to remain grand because of the deep emotions attached to them. “For us, a wedding is not just one day, it’s a whole feeling,” she says. According to her, families in India don’t see weddings as a small private ceremony but as a big celebration of love, relationships and traditions. “Even when times change, our emotions stay grand, and that makes our weddings grand too,” she adds with a smile.
Speaking about the emotional and cultural meaning behind weddings, Jahnavi shares that these celebrations reflect our roots. “Every small ritual has a story. Every step brings two families closer. As an actor, when I see these moments on screen or off screen, they always feel special,” she explains. She says weddings in India are a blend of culture, bonding, and pure joy, which makes them stand out.
Jahnavi also talks about why wedding sequences are so popular in Indian TV and films. “People enjoy watching wedding scenes because there is so much happening at once,” she says. According to her, these scenes bring together beauty, drama, music, dance and emotions. “It feels like a festival for the audience. They see colours, clothes, happiness and even twists,” she adds.
About wedding episodes delivering high TRPs, Jahnavi says the reason is simple: people relate to them. “They want to know who finally gets married, what twist will come, and how the families will react. There’s excitement and emotion together,” she explains.
From her experience on sets, Jahnavi reveals the effort that goes into shooting such sequences. “It takes huge planning. The sets, the jewellery, the dancers, the lighting—everything doubles,” she says. She adds that makers invest heavily because wedding tracks always create strong engagement. “On set, a wedding sequence feels like shooting a festival. And viewers enjoy that festival with us,” she concludes warmly.
