Abhishek Sharrma, the male lead in the popular Zee TV show Vasudha, is a person who loves to celebrate festivals with equal enthusiasm and warmth. As Ganesh Chaturthi brings in the festive cheer, the actor spoke about one thing he just cannot resist during the celebrations – modaks.
For Abhishek, Ganesh Chaturthi is not complete without enjoying different varieties of the festive sweet. While there are several flavours and fillings available during the festival, the actor finds it almost impossible to pick just one favourite. He especially enjoys the traditional modak with maava filling, but is equally tempted by newer varieties.
Talking about his love for modaks, Abhishek Sharrma said, “During Ganesh Chaturthi, if it were up to me, I could eat so many Modaks. There are so many different varieties available during the festival, and I want to try all of them. I love the traditional modak with maava filling, but I also enjoy mango, guava, kaju and kishmish modaks. Every year, when I see all these different varieties in the market, I feel like having all of them. (Laughs) I also have a soft corner for motichoor ke laddoos, so Ganpati celebrations are definitely a dangerous time for my sweet tooth.”
While modaks remain his favourite during Ganpati, he also makes sure to enjoy motichoor ke laddoos. The actor said that after taking Bappa’s blessings, having a modak gives a different kind of happiness to the festival.
He added, “For me, eating modaks during Ganpati is not just about the taste. It has become an important part of my celebrations and something I genuinely look forward to every year. There is a different kind of happiness in having a modak after seeking Bappa’s blessings. It brings back that festive feeling and makes the celebrations even more special. So, if you ask me to pick just one favourite modak, I honestly don’t think I can!”
