Sarah Killedar, who plays Mukti, also known as Vani, in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says she feels “blessed and grateful” to be part of one of television’s most celebrated shows. The young actor shared that joining the long-running Rajan Shahi production was an exciting opportunity and that the warmth she received on set helped her settle in almost instantly.

“I feel very blessed and grateful that I have come into such a big legacy show. So far, I am getting a very good feeling, and I am very excited about my journey,” Sarah said, adding that she never really felt nervous when she first arrived on set. ” The directors, actors and crew had been welcoming right from her mock shoot and look test. There is a very good vibe there. Everyone is very sweet and lovely, so I never really felt nervous,” she added.

Sarah has also been pleasantly surprised by the response to her character Mukti and the bond she shares with Abhira. She revealed that the love from viewers started pouring in right from the promo. “I want to say that I feel very good that you people are loving Mukti so much. Not just from the first episode, but from the time our promo was revealed, people have given me so much love,” she said. She added that she had expected viewers to appreciate the character, but “not this quickly.”

On working with Samridhii, Sarah says, “One of the aspects I enjoy most about the show is my bond with Sam di. My bond with Sam di is not like mother-daughter at all. Off screen, we have a lot of fun and talk about everything. You can say we are friends. She is like an elder sister to me. She guides me, shares her experience with me, and I really value that. Several small moments between Abhira and Mukti have actually been improvised by us. I remember one scene where Mukti tries to convince her mother not to work too much. The hugs, kisses and movements that viewers saw were not part of the original script. We improvised those moments. When you have such a sweet person like Sam di standing in front of you, those feelings just come naturally,” Sarah said,” Sarah said.

The actor also opened up about handling the pressure that comes with working on such a popular show at a young age. Sarah said she does not look at acting as a burden because it is something she genuinely loves. “If you want something with all your heart, you don’t feel the pressure. Acting is everything for me. It is my choice to act, and I love acting,” she said. Even while balancing studies, exams and scripts, Sarah said she has never considered acting a source of pressure.

Sarah also spoke warmly about her equation with her younger co-star Arshiya. “Our off-screen bonding is like friends. We have become very good friends. We play games, talk a lot and have a lot of fun between shoots. We really enjoy spending time together,” Sarah said.

Speaking about Rohit Purohit, who plays Armaan, Sarah recalled that she immediately felt comfortable around him. “When I met him for the first time during the promo shoot, I never felt that I was doing a scene with him for the first time. He is someone who is constantly joking around on set. Rohit sir often improvises lines and makes me and Arshiya laugh during scenes,” she said.

Sarah believes the friendly atmosphere on the sets of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has made her transition into the show much easier. “I never felt that it was my first day. I felt like I had been doing this for months or years. I never once felt that I was new,” she said.

As viewers continue to shower love on Mukti, Sarah remains grateful for the response. “Whatever words I say for the love Mukti has received are not enough. You have given me and Mukti so much love. Thank you so much,” she said, before urging viewers to continue supporting Mukti.
