Rahul Sharma has been an invaluable inclusion in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. His character of Anshuman has been an amazing individual, highly compassionate and sincere in his dealings. With him exiting the show with his character dying as per the story plot, audiences are filled with grief as they did not expect this twist to come. As per the plot, Anshuman, who is extremely dear to Abhira (Samridhii Shukla) as a friend, passes away after suffering a heart attack all of a sudden. Yes, life has its own twists, and we see lives ending when it is least expected.
Rahul Sharma talks about his exit from the show with a heavy heart, yet full of gratitude, saying, “Ever since the news of Anshuman’s exit came out, I have been flooded with messages from fans. The love and appreciation they have shown for this character have truly touched my heart. Many are not ready to accept his death, and I completely understand that because even for me, letting go of Anshuman has been extremely emotional. The support has been overwhelming, and I feel so grateful that people connected so deeply with him.”
He adds, “The only thing I want to say to the audience is—always remember the green flag, Anshuman, who was like a green forest, full of warmth, love, and positivity. Be a green flag in someone’s life, too, for those who truly value your love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving Anshuman so much love and making him such a memorable character. He will always remain with me, and I am sure with all of you as well, for a very long time.”
On the exhausting yet satisfying journey he has had on TV till now, he says, “Being a daily soap actor—especially if you are the hero or heroine, and particularly for the heroine—it is not just hectic, it is exhausting as you have to meet certain deadlines. If you don’t have a telecast ready, you may end up working for 24 hours at a stretch. In that process, your personal life takes a toll, and so does your mental state, especially if this happens frequently. Once or twice is manageable, but if you continuously work these hours, it’s not healthy. But the love of the audience makes it all worth it.”
Best of luck for your next!!
