It is an awesome feeling to play the psycho lover in Yeh Hai Chahatein: Siddharth Shivpuri

Siddharth Shivpuri is thriving and excelling as the main negative lead on the show on Star Plus, Yeh Hai Chahatein produced by Balaji Telefilms.

Siddharth who has featured in shows like Naagin, Sasural Simar Ka, Krishnadasi, Kasautii Zindagii Kay plays the role of Yuvraaj Pillai, the fiancé of Preesha (Sargun Kaur) in the show.

Says Siddharth, “It is awesome playing the role. The character is growing stronger and stronger by the day. The more Yuvraaj gets ruthless in love, the more I am getting bashed by the audience.”

Siddharth has more or less played the sophisticated, positive roles till now. And now to play a negative role has been challenging. “Yuvraaj is a psycho and the challenge has been in being open in exhibiting the negative traits. I need to push myself further in every scene when it comes to the extent to which the man can get obsessed. It is an awesome feeling playing the psycho lover (smiles).”

“The best part about playing this character is that they are many layers to him. He can pose to be innocent and good, can be slightly wicked, can get angry, and can also go to the high levels of being a psychopath. So playing these varied layers in being negative is an amazing feeling,” states Siddharth.

The scene wherein Yuvraaj kills Rajeev (Indraneil Sengupta), and the reactions he gives after killing him have given Siddharth an amazing high. “This particular scene has given me the maximum satisfaction that I can get as an actor till date in my career.”

Fans have been going crazy, and Siddharth has been at the receiving end. “It is nice to get scolded by fans especially when you are playing a negative character.”

Siddharth has a whale of a time shooting with Abrar Qazi and Sargun Kaur. “Everyone on the set is so warm and friendly. We gel very well. And there is so much to learn from the senior actors we are working with, in the show.”

Way to go, Siddharth!!
