Marking this auspicious period with a fresh professional journey, Sachin Kavetham has officially joined the cast of Sony SAB’s popular drama Hui Gumm Yaadein. He plays Malhar Malojirao Patil, a charming, innocent, carefree, and charismatic boy hailing from the village of Kalhaari. Malhar is a big dreamer who fancies himself as Shah Rukh Khan and harbours grand aspirations of moving to Mumbai to pursue an acting career.

However, before he can reach the city of dreams, Mumbai comes to him in the form of Gia. The moment he lays eyes on her, he falls head over heels. What begins as an instant crush slowly turns into a sweet, innocent infatuation as Malhar sets out to win Gia’s heart in his own carefree, larger-than-life style.

Reflecting on his personal traditions, the actor shares how his perspective on the festival evolved after moving to Mumbai. “Coming from Rajasthan, we never really celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi at home. But now that I have a few Maharashtrian friends, I get to celebrate it with them and experience the festival in a whole new way.”

Being away from home during big festivities can be tough, but Sachin finds comfort in soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere and visiting friends’ homes. “My whole family is in Rajasthan, and I feel festivals are always more fun when you’re celebrating them with family. Since I’m here on my own, I don’t get to bring Bappa home, so I prefer visiting my friends’ places and exploring different pandals to celebrate together.”

Over the years, witnessing the deep reverence of devotees across the city has left a lasting impression on him. “Even though I don’t host Bappa at my place, I’ve seen what this festival means to people—it’s so much more than just a celebration. It’s a moment of feeling completely connected emotionally with God. I’ve seen people shed tears during Visarjan because of the bond they feel. It is truly beautiful, spiritual, and deeply sacred.”

Expressing his deep gratitude for his journey so far and his wishes for the future, Sachin adds, “I believe whatever I have today is because of the blessings of Bappa, his divine father, all the gods, and the universe. As an actor, I feel I’ve been able to face and overcome every obstacle with their grace. For me, Bappa’s blessings mean staying healthy and happy for myself and my loved ones. As an actor, I just want to keep working, enjoying what I do, and growing. And as for Hui Gumm Yaadein, I hope it touches everyone’s heart and continues to entertain all our viewers.”

Lastly, sharing his enthusiasm about playing this lively character, Sachin expresses, “The most exciting part about playing Malhar is getting to be as open, carefree, and innocent as he is, and bringing that energy directly into my performance as an actor.”
