Barun Sobti was born in Delhi into a Punjabi family. He worked as an operations manager at Jindal Telecom for 7 years before entering the entertainment industry.
Sobti started his acting career in 2009 with Star Plus’s series Shraddha and later appeared in a negative cameo role in Dill Mill Gayye. He portrayed his major lead role in Sony Entertainment Television’s series Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.
He also starred in the Hotstar Originals web series Tanhaiyan and ALTBalaji’s The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family. Sobti also did short films titled Dry Dreams, Voot originals Derma and Asura.
Sobti’s third film 22 Yards premiered at the inaugural Bay Area South Asian Film Festival in California. He won the Best Actor Award for his performance in the film, which released in India on 15 March 2019.
Prior to entering the Indian television, Sobti worked in various television commercials. In 2013, he was appointed as the brand ambassador for Scavin eyewear.
Sobti was voted as the 3rd Attractive Asian Man by UK magazine Eastern Eye following Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. He was also ranked 2nd in the Gazette Review list of Most Handsome Men in the World in 2017-2018 as runner up to Chris Evans.
Barun and his wife Pashmeen recently were blessed with a baby girl. They were extremely happy. Barun style, looks, hard work, along with his dedication towards his family makes his a complete package, which is why we are totally crushing on him.
