Sayli Salunkhe talks about her show Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai

Sayli Salunkhe, who is entertaining the masses as Drishti in Colors TV’s popular show Spy Bahu, is playing the lead role in Star Bharat’s new show Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai produced by Sandip Sikcand. The actress will play the role of Indu in the show opposite Karan V Grover. In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Sayli spoke about her role in the show, comparison with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and more. Read on:

What prompted you to take up the show?

When I received a call from Sandip sir, I was excited to come on board. I have worked with him in Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali which aired on Star Plus. I feel he is a great creative and producer. Anybody would love to work with him. This was the first reason why I signed for it. Later, when I learnt about my character. I was eager to essay it on-screen. This is my first show as a lead. In this daily, the story revolves around Indu. I do believe it is a big responsibility. Hence, I am looking forward to the show and waiting for fans’ reactions.

The show’s first promo reminds us of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s plot, so how different is it? What do you think is the USP of the show?

I have not watched Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, hence I am not the right person to comment on it. However, there might be some relatable glances. Sandip sir was creatively involved in that show. Having said that, Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai is very different story. I don’t want to reveal the concept. I want audiences to watch the show and give their opinion on the same. But I can say this is an original story.

Do you find any similarities between you and your character?

No, not at all. In Indian television, there are typical women. I am not one of them. I am a completely different woman than my character Indu. For me, to portray the role of Indu is difficult. I am a tomboy. Hence, my director keeps on telling me to get the girly attitude which is important for the character Indu.

How difficult is it to work with kids on TV?

It is very difficult to work with kids. My friend Sana Sayyad told me when I signed the show that I will have double responsibility because I am going to shoot with a kid. I asked her to explain. She mentioned that I will experience it soon. Now, I understand what she was trying to say. On the first day, I was shooting with a five-year-old girl and she gave up after 9 hours of shooting as she was bored. It was a promo shoot. She started crying and we all were convincing her to give it one last shot. We got chocolates and she got convinced. It was a big task but we succeeded.

How was your experience working with Karan V Grover?

I was very excited to work with him as he is a senior actor. He is a fabulous actor and a great human being. We have not shot many scenes yet. But I don’t feel we are new to each other. It feels like we have already developed good chemistry. I am very excited to work with him and hope that audiences will love our chemistry.

Finally, your message to your fans…

I want fans to watch my Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai. I am sure they will love the show. I want to just thank them for always supporting and blessing me. I would like to tell them that please support and love us in our new show as well.
