Good looking actor Viren Singh Rathore seems to revel in the fantasy/mytho space. After doing Suryadev in Sony mytho space, and Vighnaharta Ganesha for over two years, he will next be seen as the main villain in Dangal TV fantasy, Alif Laila (Triangle Films).
“Our story revolves more around Alladin story of Arabian Nights, where I play the evil Vazir who is out to get Princess Jasmin (Shiney Doshi) and trouble Aladdin (Ankit Arora).
“I am thrilled to be part of the upcoming urban channel like Dangal, which I am very sure will rise up to biggies like Colors and Star Plus. Dangal is already #1 in rural.” says he.
What is the biggest challenge playing negative? “To look and sound different in all my avatars while doing the same evil acts (Aswadhama in Paramavatar Shri Krishna and episodic of Lal Ishq as well),” says Viren who began as a Splitsvilla contestant back in 2015.
“It is not that I am not open to other genres besides supernatural. Just that an actor has to make do with what he or she gets, as you also need to run your kitchen.”
Looking ahead, he would also want to try out other shows besides Alif Laila, “I am sure adjusting dates would not be an issue. As now since we are setting up the show, we will need more dates, but once the tale settles down, things will be more relaxed.”
“We will go on air by month-end, once we have sufficient bank of episodes,” he adds.
What made you quit Vighnaharta Ganesh??
“Honestly, after a while, the character was not getting enough due. Hence I decided to move out seeking better pastures elsewhere.”
