Shweta Tiwari is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films and television. She was born on October 4, 1980. She rose to prominence after portraying Prerna Sharma in Ekta Kapoor’s serial opera Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2001–08) and has since been in a number of other television shows, including Parvarrish (2011–13), Begusarai (2015–16), and Mere Dad Ki Dulhan (2019–20). Tiwari won Bigg Boss 4 (2010–11) and Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur, two reality series (2011).
In 1998, Tiwari married actor Raja Chaudhary, and the couple has a daughter, Palak Tiwari, who was born on October 8, 2000. After nine years of marriage, she filed for divorce in 2007. Raja’s drunkenness and domestic abuse, according to Tiwari, caused a tumultuous relationship. He used to beat her up on a daily basis, she claimed. On the sets of her programs, he would show up and misbehave with her.
