Samridhii Shukla is already in festive spirits, and that is reflecting in her on-screen performance in Star Plus‘ much-loved show, produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The young actress is looking forward to celebrating the festivals of Dhanteras and Diwali.

She said, “Both Dhanteras and Diwali have always been festivals close to my heart. The lighting of diyas starts early in our homes with Dhanteras and ends with Budhi Diwali on the day after Diwali. These festivals are not just a celebration but an occasion for families to gather together and share good food with a dose of laughter.”

“Cleaning the house is a mandate in every Indian household on Diwali, and we make sure that we wrap it up by Dhanteras. Then starts the next task of putting up lights, ordering sweets, making snacks, etc., and then buying something auspicious for Dhanteras,” she added.

Dhanteras ends with a dinner out with family, as she said, “With all the work we do on that day and the professional commitments, eating out always seems like a good idea to chill and soak in the day and refresh ourselves before Diwali.”

For Samridhii, both Dhanteras and Diwali carry valuable life lessons. She said, “While Dhanteras is a reminder of preparing wisely, valuing what we have, and acting with intention, Diwali teaches us to stay strong and keep moving no matter how dark the situation is.”

She added, “Both festivals are about embracing positivity, celebrating new beginnings, and showing gratitude for all that we have.”

Sharing her plans for Diwali, she said, “The evening always starts with Laxmi and Ganesh puja, followed by aarti. As a family, we sit down and talk about the things we are grateful for and then indulge in the sweets.”

“Though the child in me loves fireworks, I choose to celebrate responsibly. Air quality matters, and if I can set an example for others, even better. It’s a small step, but it keeps the spirit alive without harming the surroundings,” Samridhii ended.
