Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, holds great significance as it symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. This vibrant celebration is characterised by the lighting of lamps and fireworks, which serve to illuminate homes and communities. Diwali not only brings joy and happiness but also represents a time for reflection and the pursuit of success in various aspects of life. Popular actor Naman Shaw, who essays the role of Adit Saxena in Colors TV’s Mangal Lakshmi, is happy that his favourite festival, Diwali, is around the corner!!

Naman says, “Diwali, the festival of lights, holds a special place in my heart, even though I am away from my family in Kolkata. I cherish the time spent with my small family – my wife, son, and niece – celebrating the festival with love and tradition.”

On the preparations at his home for Diwali, Naman states, “A week before Diwali, preparations kick off with annual house cleaning, decorating with lights, and shopping for traditional attire. On Diwali day, we light up the house, and I make it a point to introduce my four-year-old son to the beautiful traditions of the festival.”

“Embracing the concept of a Green Diwali, I minimise firecrackers, opting for a couple of phuljharis for Shagun, to reduce noise and pollution. I believe this approach not only protects the environment but also shows consideration for elderly people and stray animals who are often distressed by loud noises,” he adds, keeping the special moment pollution-free.

He goes on to say, “The day is filled with lighting diyas, decorating the house, and indulging in sweets. Post-puja, we head to a friend’s house for a fun card game session, celebrating the spirit of Diwali and cherishing friendships that feel like family in the city.”

Naman closes by saying, “I hope for a wonderful Diwali, with Lakshmi Maata’s blessings and a bit of luck in the card games (smiles).”

Wishing all our readers a Happy Diwali!!
