Sourabh Raj Jain, who is essaying the role of a chef in Sony TV show Patiala Babes is not much of a cook in real life. “ I can make enough to survive personally. Niel, my character, works as a chef in Mini’s (Ashnoor Kaur) restaurant, so there are kitchen scenes in the screenplay. I had to prep as a chef who is very easy with his hands. I learned the basics like chopping onions and handling appliances,” he says to IWMBuzz.com.
“My wife and mother helped me a lot. I also watched Youtube videos to get the hang of the chef’s playground,” he adds.
Will this show help him conjure up a sumptuous course for his better half? “Well, why not if she is ready to take the risk?” smiles he.
So as per the plot, when will romance set in between Niel and Mini? “Right now, the equation between Mini and Niel is focused on other things than love. He cares a lot for both the sisters. Niel too has a yet unrevealed backstory,” added he
Here he admits being typecast in the costume drama (Porus and Mahakali– Anth Hi AarambhHai ) genre, “but then luckily, NachBaliye 9 came along where I could show my real side; and now this.”
Point out that the ratings of his show are not great, and he says,“ I have always worked in number one rating shows on the channel (Chandragupta Maurya and Patiala Babes.) But yes, Sony fiction does not garner much ratings. I don’t lose sleep over numbers; my job is to put in my best.” ends he.
