On World Environment Day 2026, television actor Niharika Chouksey, who is enthralling audiences in the Zee TV show Tumm Se Tumm Tak, spoke about the urgent need for environmental protection, highlighting how everyday lifestyle choices can help reduce harm to the planet.

Addressing growing concerns over climate change, pollution, and waste management, she stressed that environmental damage is no longer a future threat but a present reality that requires immediate attention.
“You name it, and we are seeing it everywhere: climate change, air pollution, water scarcity, deforestation, and rising waste. It is not something far away anymore, it is right here with us,” she said.

Along with raising awareness, Niharika also shared the simple, eco-friendly habits she follows in her daily life. She mentioned that she is consciously avoiding plastic wherever possible and switching to more sustainable alternatives. “I always try to carry cloth or reusable bags instead of plastic ones. I use a reusable water bottle, avoid disposable cups, and try not to buy things with excessive packaging. These are small habits, but they really matter,” she explained.

She added that she also makes an effort to reduce waste at home by reusing items whenever possible and being mindful of electricity and water consumption. “Even things like switching off lights when not needed, not wasting water while brushing, and reusing containers instead of throwing them away, all make a difference if we stay consistent,” she said.

Speaking about her work environment, Niharika revealed that she tries to follow sustainable practices on set as well, where consumption of plastic and disposable items is often high. “On set, I prefer using cloth bags for my belongings and avoid single use plastic bottles. I carry my own refillable bottle and try to encourage others to do the same. Sometimes even small steps like this inspire people around you,” she said.

She also noted that awareness within the entertainment industry is slowly improving, with more people beginning to adopt eco-conscious habits during shoots, though there is still scope for wider change.

“We do not need perfection; we need effort. If everyone changes just a few habits, the impact will be huge,” she concluded.
