Enchanting beauty Madhurima Tuli is the new evil force on the TV screen!!

She plays the role of Sanjana, the seductress who is a ‘chudail’ seeking revenge in Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms’ supernatural thriller, Qayamat Ki Raat.

Madhurima who has taken up diverse roles in her career has hopped on to play this antagonist character after playing the role of Chandrakanta in her earlier TV outing.

Says Madhurima, “The genre has a lot to explore and the character of chudail is something that I wanted to try. The makers have given me a stunning look. It is different and I am enjoying playing it.”

“As an actor, it is better to explore different facets. It only makes you a better actor,” she adds.

Madhurima who has mostly played more of the negative roles in her career feels that it is quite easy to jump from being negative to taking up positive roles. “Yes, after playing a role as big as Chandrakanta, the challenge has been in taking a negative role again. But I believe that all is written in destiny. Whatever you choose becomes yours. Chandrakanta is the only show which has given me a positive role. But I am sure I will get more of the positive roles in future.”

Talking about her role in Qayamat Ki Raat, she states, “She is a seductress, a diva. She’s a vampire and rules the area of Ramnamgarh. People are scared of her, and all know that the moment they enter her territory, they will be dead.”

Madhurima is extremely happy with the kind of look given to her in the show. “I am happy and satisfied with the look I have been given. It is a beautiful Indo-western kind of an outfit. When she is a chudail, she is different. Otherwise she is shown as a village belle. Also she is given a golden outfit, beautiful jewely, and a tattoo near her eyes. She’s the Devil Goddess and she looks beautiful and scary too.”

The actress who has done shows like Shree, Rang Badalti Odhani, Kumkum Bhagya, Chandrakanta – Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha has returned to TV after sometime. However, she has been busy with her projects for the digital platform. “TV has given me a lot. I believe I have a lot to explore on TV. I left the role of Tanu in Kumkum Bhagya mid-way. This is the time to expore the negative part of me. This is the best option that was offered to me. And I am happy to have taken it up.”

Madhurima is happy to be back to the Balaji camp. “I am lucky that Ekta got me back. The best part is that she always remembers me and takes me. I was in the limelight for Kasautii Zindagii Kay, but I never got a call from Balaji for that.”

Madhurima will also feature in Applause Entertainment’s web-series, India Strikes – 10 Days. “It is a beautiful series and character. I play a journalist in it. I look forward to seeing how it has come.”

She has also been part of the web-series, 26 January with Mrunal Jain, which is presently streaming on ULLU app.

On the work in the digital platform, she says, “It has been good. But I believe I need to get a better hold on the web space. The web needs really good performers since the content is shot so realistically. I look forward to bagging good roles out there.”

Best of luck, Madhurima!!
