Utsav Singh, who is loved and appreciated for his role as Raju in Zee TV’s Lakshmi Niwas, shares a deeply personal reflection on Ganesh Chaturthi, blending cherished memories, personal loss, and profound gratitude for his journey in Mumbai.
For Utsav, Ganesh Chaturthi has always been centred around family togetherness and devotion. While he had envisioned bringing Bappa home this year, a personal loss shifted his plans. “Growing up, Ganpati was always about family, faith, and togetherness. I’ve always dreamed of bringing Bappa home, but following the sudden demise of my Taiji a few months ago, I won’t be able to host Him this year. Instead, I’ll be seeking His blessings by visiting pandals and celebrating at my friends’ homes, carrying His presence with me wherever I go.”
He talks about his blessed journey in Mumbai. “When I first moved from Bangalore to Mumbai in 2024 for auditions, I prayed to Bappa to show me the right path and help this city accept me. Within just a month, I was selected for Prem Leela, and soon after, Lakshmi Niwas came into my life. I truly believe these opportunities are Bappa’s blessings guiding my path.”
The quiet reflection following the grand celebrations has offered the actor a lasting perspective on life’s natural ebbs and flows. “The greatest lesson visarjan has taught me is that nothing is permanent. There are phases filled with back-to-back work, and times when you must stay patient and trust the journey. Just as every sunset makes way for a new dawn, every ending is simply a new beginning.”
For Utsav, the festival extends beyond personal devotion to encompass the collective spirit of the city he now calls home. “Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai is far more than just a festival; you can feel Bappa’s presence in the people, the vibrant energy, and the overwhelming positivity around.
