Sunil Grover, who entertained masses with various comic characters in shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show and Kanpur Wale Khuranas is all set to be back to entertain his beloved fans.
The actor will be seen in Star Bharat’s show ‘Gangs Of Filmistan’. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, the actor spoke about his new show, comparison with The Kapil Sharma Show and more. Read on:
How excited are you for this new show?
First of all, it feels great to be back on the shoot. Being in front of the camera is what makes an artist like me happy. Things have changed though from how it was. But as I said it is a great feeling to be going back on set. My character in the show is that of a ‘Bhai’. Gangs of Filmistan is one such show that will make everyone laugh. As I said, I can’t wait to go back on set and entertain people.
How different is this from the other comedy shows? What will be the most unique part of it?
‘Gangs of Filmistaan’ is a show which will be coming soon on Star Bharat. To paraphrase in one line, it is Bollywood coming to you in the funniest way. This show lives and breathes Bollywood all together. It is a crazy world of fictional situations /spoofs /gags and banters which makes you laugh till you run out of breath. Not only that we have the best of comedians coming together who will be seen playing the best of Bollywood films and characters that is definitely relatable and of course bring happiness within your family.
Will audience get to see their favourite Gutthi in the show?
No, I will be not seen playing that role. This show has a completely different concept. I will be on the other side where I will be playing the role of a ‘Bhai’. This ‘Bhai’ will not scare you but instead, you will fall in love with him.
How has been the bond with the other actors who are on board for the show?
I have worked with these artists before. There is Shilpa Shinde, Upasana, Sugandha, etc. These are a talented bunch of people from where you will get to learn a lot. I am really excited to reunite with them.
Three reasons why audiences should watch this show?
One of the major reasons is Bollywood. The nation that breathes Bollywood will definitely love a show as such. The other would be that this will be the first-ever comedy nonfiction show which you will get to see every Monday – Friday for one hour. The third would be the artist in it who are filled with so much talent.
Do you feel there will comparison with The Kapil Sharma show?
I as an artist always believed to give the best. Connecting to the audience is one of the vital things. I think our audience is way smarter these days. They will understand that the show’s concept. As I said our show lives and breathes Bollywood. ‘Gangs of Filmistan’ is the first-ever non-fiction show to come up with a concept as such.
