Actor Gaurav Bajpai, who initially gained recognition as a runner-up on the reality talent hunt show Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj, is currently headlining Sun Neo’s show Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman. After a break, the actor is back as a lead, and he says it feels emotional and special.
Speaking to us, Gaurav said, “Honestly, it feels very special and emotional. As an actor, you always yearn to be part of a story that touches hearts, and to come back as a lead makes it even more meaningful. I have seen different phases in my career — highs, lows, waiting periods and self-doubt. So this comeback doesn’t feel like just a return; it feels like a new beginning. It’s a chance to start afresh with more maturity and gratitude.”
“I am more patient now, more focused on the craft than the noise around it. When you get an opportunity after a gap, you value every moment on set, every scene and every person who believes in you,” he added.
Talking about what made him say yes to the show, the actor shared that the story was the biggest reason. He said, “The story was the biggest reason for me to say yes. Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman is not just another drama; it has a lot of heart, hope and real human emotions at its core. It’s about ordinary people, their small struggles, big dreams and the relationships that hold them together.”
“It doesn’t rely only on high-voltage twists; it stays honest and grounded. I found that genuineness very rare. Today audiences want to see themselves on screen, and this show offers that connection. As an actor, I was looking for a narrative that allows me to perform with sincerity, and this one did exactly that,” he concluded.
Gaurav is also known for featuring in shows like Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, Yeh Vaada Raha, Kundali Milan and Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha.
