Vandana Pathak is seen as Gayatri Devi, Aryavardhan’s mother, in Studio LSD’s new project on Zee TV, Tumm Se Tumm Tak. Having spent over three decades in the industry, the actress shared that though she has played a variety of roles in her career, this one was a tad bit challenging for her.

She said, “I have never done a role like this before. My previous work includes Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Hum Paanch, Khichdi, R.K. Laxman Ki Duniya, Main Kab Saas Banungi, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, and Manmohini. All my roles have been quite different from each other, but this one is unique in its own way.”

“Gayatri Devi is older than my actual age, so adapting the body language, poise, and the balance of her powerful presence in the family required a conscious effort. I love challenges, and this role gave me exactly that. I had to work on her physicality and demeanour, but it has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience so far,” she added.

Talking about her character, she said, “She is a strong, dignified woman with dreams of her own. Despite being the head of the family, she commands immense respect without ever needing to raise her voice. In today’s fast-paced world, her compassion stands out. She is the emotional, physical, and mental backbone of her family—always holding them together.”

Asked what sets this role apart, and she said, “The sheer presence and power the character carries, yet with complete positivity. Often, powerful characters on TV lean towards negativity, but Gayatri Devi is layered, graceful, and grounded. Her current goal is to ensure Aryavardhan gets married and settles down.”

She feels that the audience will strongly connect with the way Gayatri Devi handles her home and her business—with grace and strength. “Her personality, the way she speaks, the decisions she takes—all reflect a deep-rooted strength that I believe many viewers will admire and relate to,” Vandana ended.
