Zee TV‘s popular show Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Studio LSD, is set to take an intense emotional turn as the conflict within the Vardhan family deepens. As Anu and Aryavardhan decide to leave Vardhan House together, Gayatri finds herself struggling to accept her son’s decision. Played by Vandana Pathak, Gayatri has always been a strong matriarch who values her family deeply, but the latest developments are pushing her emotional strength to its limits.

Talking about Gayatri’s emotional journey in the upcoming track, Vandana says, “Gayatri is a mother first, and when it comes to her children, her emotions often become stronger than her ability to see the situation objectively. Aryavardhan leaving the house is a huge emotional blow for her. She feels that she is losing her son, and that fear makes her react in ways that she may not otherwise have. What I’m enjoying the most about playing Gayatri is that she is not a one-dimensional character. There is strength in her, there is dignity, but there is also a very vulnerable side to her. As the story progresses, we get to see that vulnerability come out more strongly, especially when she feels that she is losing her son.”

Gayatri’s journey has now moved from being the strong matriarch of the Vardhan family to a mother who is emotionally overwhelmed by the changes around her. While she believes she is protecting her family, her hurt and insecurity are also making her vulnerable to the influence of others. Talking about how this phase is different for her as an actor, Vandana shares, “As an actor, this track is very interesting for me because Gayatri is going through so many emotions at the same time. She is angry, hurt, confused and scared, and sometimes all these emotions come together in one scene. It gives me a lot to explore as a performer.”

With Mansi and Meera constantly feeding Gayatri’s fears, her resentment towards Anu continues to grow. Vandana believes this makes the character’s journey even more layered. “I’m enjoying the fact that Gayatri is also being tested as a person. She has always been someone who believes she knows what is best for her family, but now she is in a situation where she has to question her own decisions. The influence of other people around her makes things even more complicated. For me, that conflict is what makes her interesting to play.”

Vandana also feels that the current track allows her to move away from simply portraying Gayatri as the powerful head of the family and explore her emotional vulnerability. “We have seen Gayatri’s strong side, but now the audience will get to see what happens when that strength is shaken. That is something I’m really enjoying as an actor. Sometimes the most powerful scenes are not the loud ones, but the ones where a character is silently struggling with what is happening inside. There is a lot more emotional drama coming up. Gayatri’s journey will not be about simply being against Anu. It is about a mother trying to deal with the fear of losing her son while also being influenced by the people around her. I hope the audience understands her emotions even when they may not agree with her actions.”
