Star Bharat recently presented ‘Teri Laadli Main’ a heart-wrenching story of an unwanted mute girl child Bitti who fights for her father’s acceptance against all odds stacked against her for being born as a girl.
Talented actress Mayuri Kapadane portrays the character of Bitti, the protagonist, who is the epitome of positivity and hope. Talking about the show, she says, “I am really excited to debut on Hindi TV with this show. I have been in the industry for 5 years but have worked in Marathi shows and films. This is my first Hindi TV show as a lead so I am glad for this opportunity.”
What were the challenges while playing the character? Mayuri adds, “I will be essaying the character of Bitti, an unwanted mute girl child who is rejected by her father for being a girl. It’s easy for everyone to play a regular heroine but it’s a challenge when someone has to play a character that is out of their comfort zone. My challenge was to convey everything with my expression. There has been a scene when I mistakenly spoke during the sequence and everyone laughed out.”
Mayuri feels the show will bring a positive change in the society, “The show strives to send out a strong message to change the mindset of India where people still believe that a family is complete only with the birth of a boy child. We are giving out a message that girls can do anything. This is an emotional story that will connect with audiences. I am looking forward to the response of the audience for our show,” ends the actress.
