Pallavi Rao who has effortlessly donned varied roles on TV with Shakalaka Boom Boom, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala is all set to play mother for the first time on a TV show with Shubh Aarambh the upcoming Colors show produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions.
Says Pallavi, “Shubh Aarambh is a very interesting family drama with a love story set amidst the premise. I am happy to be back with Shashi Sumeet after four years. This is the best production house I have worked with. So when I was offered a role, that too of a mother, I grabbed it with both my hands. I picked it up with so much conviction, that I did not even ask them what my role is. Shashi and Sumeetji know me inside out as an actor. So when they have offered me a role, I am sure that it will be meaty.”
The best blessing via Shubh Aarambh that Pallavi has got is that she graduates to play mother to grown-up leads on screen. “I really do not know why I was not being offered the mother roles of grown-ups till now. In spite of being a mother to two kids who are in their teens, I had not got to play one on TV. I made a conscious effort in my free time to gain decent weight which will make me look perfect for the motherly roles. And I am happy that all my efforts have paid off, and I am playing a mother now.”
Talking about her role she avers, “I play the role of Asha, mother to the male lead. She holds on to her richness. My role will see varied shades and viewers will enjoy seeing it.”
