Gashmeer Mahajani the talented young actor who has created a mark in the Marathi film industry is now going great guns in the Hindi TV space with Imlie the Star Plus show.

Gashmeer who is an affectionate father to his son Vyom, talks about parenthood and the life lessons that he will want to give his son!! Get to read this Father’s Day Special from Gashmeer Mahajani.

Says Gashmeer, “My favourite moment as father was the first time when I held my son in my arms. Within a few hours, after he was born, I reached Amravati where my wife had delivered, and I took Vyom in my arms. The second best right now will be when I put him off to sleep every night. I read a story for him from a book. So that’s my favourite moment.”

“Every parent is extra careful about their kids. So am I about Vyom. The pandemic has taught me that personal hygiene is of utmost importance. Also, it has taught us the value of staying with loved ones. I got a chance to spend a lot of time with my son owing to the pandemic. The pandemic has also taught us to be patient, perseverant and being strong,” he adds.

Ask Gashmeer about his favourite pastime with Vyom, and he is quick to say, “Recently, I realized that we both like to lie and laze around in the bed. I got free time after six months after I came back from the Hyderabad schedule. I had one full day with me. For the whole day, I was with him. I woke up only when Vyom jumped on me at about 8.30 am. Till lunch, we were in bed doing nothing. We did masti, pillow fighting. He was talking a lot in gibberish and I was trying to make out what he was saying (smiles).”

On the life lesson that Gashmeer will try to give his kid as a father, he says, “I will teach him two words, and how to use them very early on in life, which I learnt pretty late. One is ‘thank you’, if anyone does anything for you, and the other is ‘sorry’ if you go wrong anywhere or you want to end a conversation. It is fine to lose a few battles in the way, but it is important to focus on the bigger goals of life.”

Ask him about this year’s plans for Father’s Day and he quips, “I will most probably be working on Father’s Day. So I would invite Vyom to the set and have him with me for the whole day while I am shooting. That will be the best Father’s Day experience I could have, where Vyom is there, observing and learning things.”

Gashmeer’s strong and pure message to all the fathers will be, “Be there for your kid. Listen to what they are saying; give them an ear. It is important to have good conversations so that they understand and even learn to reply well. Let us be the best friends for our children.”

Well said, Gashmeer!! Happy Father’s Day to you and to all our readers here!!
