India will be celebrating its 75th Independence Day on August 15, 2021, with the usual pride to mark its freedom from British rule. On the special occasion, popular TV actress Pooja Banerjee who plays the role of Rhea in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya also remembered her childhood memories of Independence Day.
She said, “Since childhood, Independence Day used to evoke a sense of patriotism in me and I remember, how we used to celebrate this special day every year. We used to get ready early in the morning and go to school, where a big event was planned every single year. Flag hoisting was followed by dance performances and singing a few patriotic songs and my friends and I used to participate in this wonderful celebration every single time.”
Pooja further added, Since college days, I guess we’ve lost touch with such celebrations, but I still remove some time and take a walk down memory lane. I also pray for the nation once on Independence Day. This is because I truly believe in the thought of Sare Jaha se Achha, Hindustan Hamara. I have been to several countries across the world but, I really feel there is no other place like India. There is a sense of freedom that I feel only when I am back home, in India. I am proud of being an Indian and I hope and pray for the best of the country.”
