It’s been a momentous journey for us, the proud Indians as we get into the 75th year of Independence in India. As our nation gears up to celebrate Independence Day with high energy on 15 August 2021, we have our telly actors celebrating the day in their own way. Today we have Priyal Mahajan, the lead of Colors’ Molkki expressing her thoughts on what she feels about Independent India.

Says Priyal, “Independence to me means the liberty to pursue my dreams, and not limiting myself to societal norms. As a woman, it is challenging to live my life according to my own terms. But I am working towards it every single day.”

Ask her about the patriotic fervour in her, Priyal frankly states, “I might not sing the National Anthem every day, but I have always expressed my thoughts and voiced my opinions about what is right.”

For Priyal, her favourite patriotic song is, “Ae Watan from Raazi. I always get goosebumps when I listen to this song.”

Ask her about her favourite freedom fighter and Priyal quips, “Every single freedom fighter has sacrificed a lot for our country. So my heart goes out to all the freedom fighters that we have had.”

The recent Covid-hit phase that we have been in has troubled every citizen of the Nation. Ask Priyal about the person who has impressed her when it comes to fighting for the welfare of the country in these Covid-hit times, and she says, “There are a lot of people who have been fighting at the frontline, for the welfare of the country. But the one person, I believe who has stood out in these testing times is Sonu Sood for sure. All of us appreciate him for his commendable efforts.”

Well said, Priyal!!

Wish all here a very Happy Independence Day!!
