The Nation will celebrate its 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2023. Republic Day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950. While India gained independence from the British Raj in 1947, it wasn’t until January 26, 1950, that the Constitution of India came into effect, and the country became a sovereign state, declaring it a republic.

On the special occasion, popular TV actress Aishwarya Khare, who plays the role of Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi, also remembered her childhood memories of Republic Day. She said, “The two fundamental rights that I wish everyone to follow are the right to equality and the right to freedom. Most of the girls in our country are still fighting for these rights in society. I believe that a person is not dignified by their gender but by the kind of work, they do. I remember when I was in school, I used to always perform in the special Republic Day celebration, be it school house wise singing or group dance. But as we grow up, we definitely miss out on the fun part of celebrating these patriotic days. I wish everyone a very happy Republic Day, always use your rights wisely.”
