Madalsa Sharma is a strong, independent woman who has worked her way up to garner success. She is presently part of the successful show on Star Plus, Anupamaa produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut.
For Madalsa, her mother Sheela Sharma has been her source of inspiration. Today, on the occasion of Women’s Day, Madalsa salutes her mother for all that she has done for her. “I have always looked up to my mom ever since I was a little girl and all through my life. There’s so much I learn from my mom.”
Ask Madalsa if she feels that as a woman, she lives in a male-dominated society even today, and she explains, “Honestly no, I don’t think we live in a man dominated society at all. Also, where we live, plays an important role, to answer your question. Mumbai being a cosmopolitan city has evolved over the years and is growing rapidly. There is now no room for such thoughts and nor are they encouraged by society. Sadly, it’s not the same in every part of the country. I’m hoping this changes as soon as possible, and people are recognized as independent individuals and are treated equally, without any gender discrimination.”
On her personal goals to better herself as a woman, Madalsa avers, “My sole goal is always to encourage and motivate people who are mentally low. I wish to spread the word regarding mental health and how important it is and teach people the right way to deal with it, because according to me if you’re in the right frame of mind mentally, you can conquer your dreams.”
She has a special message for her fans, especially the lovely girls and women. “Firstly I would like to thank all my fans for all the love and blessings they shower upon me. Your love means so much to me and makes me want to work hard each day. I love you all so much!!!! Secondly, to all you lovely women/girls out there, I would like to say that, know your worth, no matter what. Keep at it and know you are capable of achieving it all!”
