Actor Raj Anandkat replaced Bhavya Gandhi in 2017 as Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the longest-running Hindi television sitcom. He has been absent from the sets of TMKOC for some days now which makes us speculate about his exit from the show.
Mandar Chandwadkar aka Bhide told Pinkvilla recently, “As artists, we don’t know if he has quit the show but he had some health issues due to which he hasn’t been shooting for the past few days. I haven’t seen him on the set.”
At this moment Raj is in Dubai on a family vacation as well as for some work purposes. He has been sharing his vacation updates and photos on social media.
Earlier, we got the news that Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta, who played the titular character quit the show. At another show, when asked about his departure, his co-star Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal said, “Like I said, change is inevitable. Thodi difficulty toh hoti hai when they leave the show, of course as a rhythm is set with your co-stars, but never say never Shailesh Bhai Aa bhi sakte hain wapas.” We wonder if the makers of the show make efforts to bring Shailesh and Raj back or find their replacements.
