The recently launched Colors TV show, Tu Juliet Jatt Di by Dreamiyata Entertainment, featuring Jasmeet Kaur and Sayed Raza Ahmed in the lead roles, has quickly started gaining attention for its grounded storytelling and emotionally realistic portrayal of modern love. Jasmeet plays Heer, a young Punjabi woman whose life is shaped by responsibility, ambition and a deep desire to make her family proud.
Speaking about the character, Jasmeet shared that Heer represents a large section of young women today. “Heer is simple and ambitious. She is just like many girls who grow up with the hope of doing something meaningful for their families. Her dreams are not extraordinary or magical. They are honest and relatable, which is what makes her special.”
One of the most distinctive traits of the show is its approach to romance. Jasmeet explained that she was drawn to the story because it avoids the usual fairytale treatment of love. “The show does not present romance as perfect or flawless. Instead, it highlights how powerful love can feel even when it is messy or complicated. I believe today’s generation connects with that idea because real emotions rarely unfold in a picture-perfect way. That is exactly what our story celebrates.”
Jasmeet also felt an instant cultural connection with the character. “I am a Sikh and Heer is Punjabi, so the cultural similarities felt very natural to me. Her values and her emotional world felt familiar. She carries her family’s expectations like a silent weight on her shoulders and constantly strives to balance her personal dreams with her responsibilities. Many young women will definitely relate to her journey because it mirrors the experiences of so many daughters in Indian households.”
Her on-screen pairing with Sayed Raza Ahmed has already become a point of discussion among viewers, and Jasmeet expressed admiration for him as a co-actor. “Shooting with Sayed has been wonderful. He is calm, professional and very supportive. We both try to give our best in every scene, and that teamwork is visible on screen. It feels easy to perform when your co-actor completely understands the rhythm of the scene.”
Jasmeet also spoke highly of the production environment. According to her, the team ensures that every actor feels comfortable and valued. “The entire team is extremely supportive and collaborative. Ravie sir and Sargun ma’am are very thoughtful producers. They always make sure that every artist has what they need to deliver their best performance. Working on a set where everyone respects your craft truly makes a difference.”
Best of luck!!
