Actor Amal Sehrawat who has appeared in Choti Sarrdaarni, talks to us about his emotions on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Talking about the relationship with his mother, he shares, ”She is my friend, philosopher, and guide — the strongest pillar of my life. One lesson which I have learnt from her is not to hurt anyone. Since childhood, she taught me never to hurt anyone’s emotions. And if, even unintentionally, you end up hurting someone, then the moment you realise your mistake, you should honestly apologise and do everything possible to correct or minimise the damage caused. That value has stayed with me throughout my life.”
On being asked about his favourite memories with her, Amal says,”There are countless memories, so choosing just one is difficult. But if I had to pick one, it would be from my childhood when I was in fourth standard. My mother, who is a retired Delhi University professor, was in charge of a college trip to Nainital, and she took me along with her. I was the only child on that trip, so I received immense pampering from all the college students. Since I was the professor’s son, I became a part of their gang and fun activities, got a very special kind of attention and affection. It was wonderful experiencing college-level fun and bonding at such a young age — a memory I still cherish deeply.”
Amal, who lost his father during Covid, shares how he realised his mother’s dedication to the family. ”After losing my father to Covid, I became the head of the family. Since then, every single day has made me realise the immense patience, wisdom, and strength my mother carried throughout her life. Despite limited support, she devoted herself completely to her husband and children, sacrificing many of her own personal desires. Her unconditional dedication towards the family is something I understand and admire even more today.”
Amal adds, ”Thankfully, I have always shared a very transparent and honest bond with my mother. She raised me in a way where I never felt the need to hide my emotions from her. I openly express my love and gratitude to her through both words and actions. I constantly remind her how thankful I am for her love, sacrifices, blessings, and teachings. In fact, she is truly the boss of our family. For me, every day is Mother’s Day because I experience the power of my mother’s prayers and blessings every day. They give me strength and help me navigate life with peace and positivity. Mother, I love you the most. I am forever grateful for your unconditional love, teachings, support, blessings, and prayers.”
